This CPD Award focuses on equipping course participants with the competences, knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, assess, and manage pressure ulcers and other types of wounds. Participants will delve into the causes of pressure ulcers, risk factors, and the importance of early detection and intervention to prevent their development.
Throughout the course, participants get a chance to deepen their understanding of evidence-based strategies for preventing pressure ulcers, including proper skin care, repositioning techniques, and the use of support surfaces. They will also explore the assessment and classification of wounds, wound healing processes, and the principles of wound management, including wound cleansing, dressing selection, and infection control.
By the end of this CPD award, students will be well-equipped to identify individuals at risk of pressure ulcers, implement effective prevention strategies, and provide comprehensive wound care to promote healing and prevent complications.
